I recently starting writing news releases for my employer Balance Technology Group and have had wondered if this classic PR tool is relevant the web 2.0 world. So, an article by Ron Consolino in the Houston Chronicle caught my eye. Consolino’s premise: “Even in the age of blogs and RSS feeds, the news release remains the simplest, yet most effective tool. Even better, the resulting coverage costs nothing compared to the costs of paid advertising.”
