In “How Many Moms Are Online,” eMarketer documents the findings of several studies that reinforce this conclusion. Included are results from Pew Internet & American Life Project, US Department of Commerce, Experian Consumer Research, Nielsen Online, and comScore Media Metrix.
Since starting the Fairfax County Schools website more than 10 years ago, I have longed for data that shows how prevalent on-line activities are among families with children. Now that the research is so clear, I hope this will buoy school district on-line efforts and convince more teachers to use electronic communication tools with students and their parents.
