Screen Sharing Options

As we get increasingly virtual, screen sharing tools can be a handy way to “be there” during a phone-based meeting. Following are some tools out there. I welcome your experiences with any of these.

Jing – allows you to make a small movie of what happens during an interaction (shows your mouse
movements, page changes, records your voice). You then share the file. – This is more expensive than I would like, but I have had good experiences using this. – I tried this about 6 months ago. It’s free but I found there was a huge delay in my movements and what the viewer saw.

Snagit – Lets you share screen shots

  1. Another option which might be worth a quick look is – screen sharing & remote control, IM alongside and integration with Skype. Only host needs to install anything – cross platform (PC, Mac & linux). Free version available.
