Who Watches Online Video?

Results of a survey of 2000 consumers by TDG analyst Michael Greeson reveals:

  • 34 percent of online video viewer are age 18 to 32
  • 30 percent are age 33 to 44
  • 14 percent earn $100,000 or more per year vs. just 11 percent of non-video watchers
  • 63 percent watch user-generated content on sites like YouTube
  • 37 percent  watch videos linked from Facebook
  • 32 percent  watch TV shows on sites such as NBC.com and CBS.com
  • 30 percent watch videos of local news and weather reports
  • 25 percent watch global and national news videos
