Users of both LinkedIn and Twitter used to be able to have tweets fed into their LinkedIn profile, but that all ended this week. Twitter eliminated the ability for its streams to be fed into third-party applications.
LinkedIn already has an alternative solution: users can share updates with Twitter followers by posting them on LinkedIn. Here’s how:
- Start a conversation on LinkedIn.
- Check the box with the Twitter icon, and click “Share.” This automatically pushes the update toLinkedIn connections and Twitter followers just as before.
The move is seen by industry experts as the latest indication that Twitter is maturing as a platform. Read one blogger’s take on this evolution.
