Do you need to connect with Millennials? If yes, you need to be familiar with Snapchat.
A recent ComScore report found that 50 percent of smartphone users age 18-24 use the Snapchat app, as do 20 percent of consumers between the ages of 25-34. This makes Snapchat an ideal platform to reach Millennials.
Snapchat is a mobile app that allows users to send and receive “self-destructing” photos and videos, known as “snaps.” The sender determines how many seconds (one to 10) the recipient can view the snap before the file disappears from the recipient’s device.
By default, Snaps disappear from the screen once they are viewed – unless the recipient decides to keep it, such as with a screenshot or separate camera. Snaps are meant to make conversation more spontaneous, visual, and fun.
There is also an option to create stories. Stories string snaps together to create a narrative that lasts for 24 hours. Depending on privacy settings, the photos and videos added to a story can be viewed by either all Snapchatters, just the user’s friends, or a customized group.
Take a look and get your creativity flowing. The reward will be reaching a critical audience using a method that is highly engaging. Good luck!
