As Twitter evolves, so do the best practices for using it to communicate. Here are 6 tips to help you maximize the impact of your efforts on Twitter:
Twitter–and other social networks–allow you and your business to have a voice. Be personable. Use the name of the person behind each tweet. Figure out the tone and style that what works for you and go with that.
Images are shared and re-tweeted more than text-only tweets. Bottom line is that if your tweet has an image you will get more views.
Know what your focus is and stick with it. You want your followers to be interested in what you have to say and the more general you become the less attraction there is to follow you over the scores of others tweeting the same information.
Don’t Forget to Listen, Too
Listen to what people are saying about you, your brand, your customers, your competitors, and your keywords. Engage with the users who are talking about these things. Don’t just post and expect others to interactive with what you have to say; what they say matters too.

Follow People Who Interest You
Feel free to follow those who interest you because you like what they have to say and not because they may follow you back. Don’t worry about following more people than follow you.
Know what your goals are on Twitter. Monitor and measure what you are doing and do more of what works and less of what doesn’t. Be strategic.
