Bloomberg is reporting that Snapchat reached 150 million daily users, up from 110 million in December. For some perspective, this surpasses Twitter’s 140 million daily users.
Do we all need to stop tweeting and start snapping? Not necessarily.
While Snapchat use is growing, Twitter has been dealing with the growing pains of a social channel moving from the newbie to a mainstay. Snapchat is benefiting from being the new cool kid on the block.
It is time to take Snapchat seriously, and consider if it is a fit for reaching the audiences you want to connect with. Snapchat’s user base trends toward Gen Z and millennials. It is best for sharing photos and videos. There are limited tools for marketers, but more are being added regularly.
