Make LinkedIn Pages Work for You
If you are in business, you need a LinkedIn company page. Seen as a credible professional network, LinkedIn has more than 800 million members. This is where people go to check the validity of you as a professional, and of your business. The pandemic has accelerated the growth and use of LinkedIn.
Having a strong LinkedIn presence can help build your brand credibility and expand your social media presence.
Build Your Company Page
Build out your LinkedIn company page and regularly update it. LinkedIn has an article with step-by-step instructions to create a company page. Make sure you fill out all the relevant fields. Take time to select good quality images.
Once you have a page, you need to commit to post to it regularly. The frequency depends on your industry and audience, and can be once a month or multiple times a week.
When posting content:
- Use your brand keywords.
- Keep your branding consistent.
- Keep your headlines and text short, about 140 words.
- Offer a clear call to action – what should readers do next?
- Use video and unique images for visual interest. Posts with images generate more engagement.
You can make posting easier by using a scheduling tool like Hootsuite. Be aware of how your LinkedIn posts are presented when doing this – the preview images attached to your posts can be presented in different sizes. Experiment and ensure your content looks how you want it to when you posted through third-party providers.
Add Showcase Pages
Showcase Pages are extensions of your company page, designed for spotlighting a brand, business unit, or initiative. You can create a page for aspects of your business with their own messages and audience segments to share with. With showcase pages, you can also create and share content that relates specifically to those areas.
