CertiPUR-US®, a certification program for foam used in bedding and upholstered furniture, had an engaging website that shared the not-for-profit’s mission. There was just one problem: the site was not mobile-friendly, effectively shutting out the growing number of consumers looking to reference the site on the fly.
Creating a Mobile-Friendly Website
Although the CertiPUR-US team had a trusted and capable web design firm, they wanted an outside expert to help manage the project, provide a second opinion on best practices, relieve staff time and serve as a trusted advisor and interface, helping to guide the process of migrating the website to a mobile-friendly WordPress template. The move to a mobile-friendly site was also an opportunity to make incremental improvements in the site content and usability.
Managing Across Resources
Kurtz Digital Strategy was able to gain the trust and respect of the web firm and seamlessly provided project management and consulting services to ensure that the project stayed on track and reflected current best practices. The effort meant working with a web development firm and the client to:
- Identify opportunities to improve site content and functionality
- Inventory content
- Track movement of content into the new template
- Ensure that inputs and deliverables were complete and on time
- Quality check updated website prior to public launch
The new site maintains the established visual brand, improves messaging and content, and is flawlessly accessible on mobile devices.
